Fall Touches on the Mantel Shelf

Hello Everyone!  I feel as if I am so far behind in sharing my fall decorating this year.  And because of that, I have missed a lot of bloggers fall parties.  Between my booth at Unique House of Antiques and the newest addition to our family, Harley, (you can read about him here) I have been busy!  Today, I thought I would at least share my fall mantel shelf in the family room.

011

This year, I decided not to do pumpkin topiaries.  Instead, I flanked each end of the mantel shelf with a pair of lanterns and the faux eucalyptus swags that I made last year.

014

I placed magnolia leaves inside the lanterns that I clipped from our magnolia tree.

It’s hard to believe that I purchased this mantel shelf at an auction many years ago for $1.  And to this day I still LOVE my $1 purchase.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Meet Harley

Isn’t he adorable!  He’s the newest addition to our family.

006

He’s a Miniature English Bulldog.  We picked him up yesterday and he has been keeping Charlie and I busy.  He’s eight weeks old and full of puppy energy!!

005

We have not even had him a full day yet and he’s already learning what the word “NO NO” means….LOL!

007

It’s been 14 years since we’ve had a puppy….wish us luck!

As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

A Fall Welcome on the Front Porch

Hello Everyone!  I added the fall finishing touches to my front porch today!

014

This year, I wanted to change things up in my urns.  I usually plant mums in them but I decided to make pumpkin topiaries instead.

 018

I made a straw mat for my pumpkins.  To keep the straw from blowing away, I cut a trash bag to the size I needed and sprayed the bag with Spray Adhesive.  I then scattered the straw on the trash bag, patting it down so that it would stick to the bag.  I wasn’t sure if it would work but guess what….it does!

 010

Like last year, the wire planter hanging on the front porch is spruced up with some sunflowers and a Harvest Home sign.

001

This is still my favorite place on the porch!

004

I love to sit out here and just swing in my swing.

It’s really pretty at night with the ambiance of the lanterns and the string of lights in the pumpkin topiaries.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful fall weather we are having.

Potting Bench for Fall

Hello Everyone!   Slowly, I’ve added a little bit of fall here and there inside my home.  But this weekend I spent my time outside.  I added some fall touches to my porches.

009

I love decorating my potting bench that sits on my screened-in porch this time of year.

008

The PUMPKINS  APPLES  Hayride sign is new this year.  I made three of them and I kept one for myself.  The other two went to my booth and I have already sold one.

007

Something else I made new this year is the “Welcome” picket fence.

015

Again, I made several of them and kept one for myself.  The others went to my booth and they have sold already.  I made three more and they are  in my booth and hopefully will sell as well.

I also made a new wreath this year for the door leading out to the garage.

011

I used a bushel basket lid.  First, I stained it with a dark walnut stain and then stenciled Autumn on it.  Next, I added faux leaves, berries and pinecones.

I have a few more things left to do to the front porch and then I’ll be done with the outside.  I’m hoping tomorrow I can finish up.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful week.
