While I was running errands the other day, I just happened to stop at one of my favorite places to shop (an antique mall that has approximately 170 antique dealers). And look at what I bought.
Yep…an aqua kitchen stool! Look at the sweet little decal on the back of the stool.
As much as I liked the aqua color and that sweet little decal…it just was not going to work in my kitchen.
So out to the garage it went for some paint. I’m happy to say the new color now works in the kitchen.
My first thought was to paint it green but I played it safe and painted it white. I stenciled my favorite number on the back of the stool.
I’m still thinking that maybe a green would look nice…..umm don’t be surprised if this vintage kitchen stool makes another appearance.
As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Gail

How cute! I love those old metal stools. I like how you distressed it around the edge of the seat.
ReplyDeleteHI Gail! Oh, what a darling little stool! I love that little decal too but know if you're going to use something in your home you have to make it work. It looks wonderful white and with your '3' on it1 Love the entire area here. So much pretty to look at.

I love the shape of that stool. I liked it both ways, but your transformation works much better with your decor. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteI thought the aqua looked great in your kitchen but the white has that certain something too! It still retains its vintage feel with that cool unmistakable shape from another era. Great find! Did you get it for a good deal? Inquiring thrifters want to know.

Hi Gail,
ReplyDeleteYour little stool is so cute and looks perfect in your kitchen. The fun thing about finding a piece like this one is that you can paint it as many times as you like and I have a feeling you will be doing just that.

You turned that stool into a work of art! It's adorable! Thank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday!
ReplyDeleteYour vintage stool is adorable and boy, how vintage it looks!! I love it in your kitchen and white is better too. What a great idea, I love the NUMBER 3 too, I got to do something to display it like you did..very thoughtful!

Oh, my goodness, that's adorable! I thought it was cute to begin with, with the vintage image and the blue, but you did a terrific job giving this new life--well done!
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet stool...I love the number on it!
ReplyDeleteI love it white and distressed with the number on it, looks great right where you have it! I'll have to keep an eye out for one, they are really neat!
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable! Anything metal that is still in good shape is always a great find!
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Gail! I loved it in its vintage look and now it's new white look with the number stencil. Maybe you'll get lucky and find another; then you can have a white and a green one!
ReplyDeleteLove it Gail! How lucky you are.
ReplyDeleteI love it painted white! It looks great distressed and I love the number on it too!
ReplyDeleteGail, that stool is so cute. I love the shape of it. I bet you paint it again.
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful as always. I think green would be fun though and would sorta make it pop from the rest of the white in the room.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so into aqua right now. I would have left it. I probably would have put it in my bathroom...that seems to be the color going in there lately.
ReplyDeleteHowever...you did a great job painting it and looks fantastic in your kitchen!
Pat

This is so darn cute. I agree with one of the other comments that the shape is what makes it so attractive particularly white with the scrolling number.
