Hello Everyone! This year I made a few changes to our staircase banister.
Instead of using red bows this year, I replaced them with burlaps ones. I also added JOY on the steps.
The letters are paper mache letters painted white and then decoupaged with scrapbook paper onto the front of each letter.
One thing that will probably never change is the Keepsake Christmas stocking that I made using one of my Mom’s sweaters and is hanging on my banister. You can read about the making of the Keepsake Christmas Stockings here.
I use candles on the stairs instead of lights since I don’t have an electric outlet on this side of the wall.
Quick note to let you know that I did very well with sales this past weekend at my little booth!
As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all are having a wonderful week!
Gail

I sure wish my stairs had a bannister Gail - Yours is so lovely with the candles and swags- love the joy!
ReplyDeleteMy stairs are enclosed and so narrow that we don't have a railing even! Funny how they did things 100 years ago!
Gail so happy for you! LOVE your bannister and those sweet candles!

Burlap bows are a creative idea and everyone can use a little joy. We just had our stairs repaired so we can decorate them for the holidays and people are safe going up and down.
