Shutter Doors

After several disappointing trips to our local Restore in search of shutter doors, I finally scored!  Not only did I score on three sets of shutter doors, I also bought three electric wall sconces.

I wasted no time when I got home,  I started painting.

With Charlie’s help, we converted one of the electric scones into a plug-in and attached it to the shutter door.   The cord runs in the back.

I used Miss Mustard Seed’s (MMS) milk paint.  I painted it Typewriter (black) and Linen (white).  Then I applied MMS’s creamy wax.

I wish I could have plugged it in for you to see how beautiful it is all lit up.  Unfortunately, I took it to my booth on Friday and didn’t get a chance to take a picture of it at home.   And I don’t have an electric outlet in my booth.

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful spring like weather we are having.  Sad to say, but we are being told that by the weekend it’s suppose to get cold again.

As always, thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful week.

Gail

  7. Wow so pretty and creative. That is a very pretty paint treatment and an added bonus with the working sconces. It's great when you finally find items you are searching for. I tell my guys all the time to keep their eyes open for old doors and shutters when they are up north etc.
Thanks for visiting and for the kind comment on the wood box and ironstone vignette.
