Paint Paint and More Paint

WOW what a week it has been!   Between the kitchen remodel and having to deal with my computer crashing due to a window update, I think I’m doing pretty good so far.

Monday was the official kick-off of our kitchen remodel.  I primed the kitchen cabinets on Monday and on Tuesday put my first coat of white paint on them.  I do believe I have finished the final coat  of paint on my cabinets as of today.   I  put a total of four coats of paint on my cabinets.  I must tell you I’m so LOVING the white!

Hubby had off today (CWS day) and is  working hard. He’s taking up the lin0leum flooring and what a mess!

But we have this now just waiting in our garage to replace the linoleum.

I know what we’ll be doing this weekend but I can see sunshine at the end of this tunnel!  What a way to spend our anniversary weekend……in the kitchen of all places.

Happy Halloween and have a wonderful weekend!

I’m linking this post to  Donna at Funky Junk Interiors for her Saturday Nite Special.  This weekend’s theme is anything goes.

  11. Hi Gail!
    Happy Anniversary to you guys.
I hope you have good knee pads for laying all of that tile.
Aren't you excited about a new kitchen for all the holiday meals?

Hand waxing is easy. You just have to buff lightly until you have a soft sheen. I love the look and the feel of it.

  12. Oooh! It's going to look SO GOOD!!! I can't wait to see the finished project! I love that trip on the cabinets- I would like to do that to mine, but they have this weird lip around the top- ugh. I always end up opening a big fat can of worms!! ;)
    Happy Halloween!!!

  13. I so know what you're going through. Oh my gosh do I ever! What a smart gal you are to take the doors into that huge garage of yours. (I say huge cuz mine is a single wide)

I also have a tip for your lino removal if you aren't done. When I was removing my lino floor, I had a terrible time. Then I thought about what kinds of things released glue. Heat does. So I grabbed my Wagner wallpaper steamer I had and tried it. Not only did the glue soften, but so did the vinyl! It was like removing butter! Best kept secret now revealed!

I can't wait to watch the transformation of your kitchen!

Thanks for linking up to the party. Happy 'anniversary in the kitchen.' LOL

  19. Congratulations on your kitchen remodel...it's coming along great! That white looks fabulous! Tearing lino is such nasty work, but it will be well worth it for that pretty tile!
