An Auction Lamp

Several months ago, I purchased this cute little lamp at an auction.

 001

It needed a lamp shade so I purchased a shade, trim and a tassel at JoAnn’s Fabric.  I hot glued the trim around the top and bottom  and tied the tassel around the base top.

My auction lamp is now complete just in time for Christmas.

The urns with the greens, lights and red balls are something I made last year.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year.   I’m working on my Christmas monogram wreath and mitten napkins holders.   They’re almost completed.

Spruced Up Two Old Trees

I started my Christmas decorating this weekend and I pulled down these old Christmas trees out of the attic.  I think I’ve had these poor pitiful trees for about six or seven years maybe longer.   001

I purchased these pine floral picks at JoAnn’s and added them to the trees.006

And now my poor pitiful trees look like this…….053

I just love how they turned out and I now have them displayed in my dining room.  052 - Copy

The white plate is empty because I have not made my cookies yet.  048

It’s definitely beginning to look like Christmas in our house.044

More Christmas to come from our house to yours.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Kitchen Urn Lamps

The kitchen is almost completed!  All that is left to do is install the counter tops and we’re hoping that will be done in a week or so.   In the meantime, I’m working on some added accessories.

I had purchased this picture for the kitchen and I wanted to add some lighting to go beside it.

026

When I was shopping at Ross’ the other day, I found two floral urns and I immediately knew that the urn would make the perfect lamp for my kitchen.  I purchased the two at $4.99 a piece.

018

I pulled the flowers out of the urn and cut a whole in the middle and hot glued the electric candle lamp in the hole and added moss to fill the hole up.

020

And this is what my urn lamps look like in my kitchen beside the picture.

021

028

The total project cost was about $9.00 a piece….not bad!

More kitchen projects to come.

Have a wonderful day.

I Made My Own Tassel

When I saw Cheri at It’s So Very Cheri  was hosting a Tassel Party this morning,  I thought I would join in.  I gathered up what supplies I had on hand and this is what I came up with.

034

Not bad for materials I had on hand.   There are a lot of beautiful tassels in blogland and I can’t wait to get really creative with mine.  This was a fun project!

Thanks Cheri for hosting.

Three EZZZEEE Projects using Gorilla Glue

Shanty 2 Chic  girls are hosting another fun link party “I Made it with Gorilla Glue” so I’m joining in with 3 easy projects using…. Gorilla Glue.

The wooden office chair was a purchased at an auction and one wheel needed to be fixed.  It wouldn’t stay in the hole.

029

I Gorilla Glued it and the wheel now stays where it’s suppose to…. in the hole.

033

A  corner cabinet was a recent purchase for our kitchen, but it needed some trim, so once again I…..

018

added the trim with Gorilla Glue.

022

Here it is with the trim added.  I’m still working on this.  It will look really nice in our kitchen.

003

The corbel was in a box of goodies that I purchased at an auction and I thought it would make a perfect candle sconce.  I spray painted it and Gorilla Glued the candle holder.

027

As soon as our kitchen remodel is completed I will hang it with yet another project that I will be working on and it’s right beside the corbel candle holder.

Have a wonderful day.
