Brrrrr A Winter Welcome

My front door and  garage door were looking so unwelcoming when I took down my Christmas wreaths.  I’ve always decorated my doors for all seasons making it time for some new winter wreaths.   So, I purchased three wreaths from Jo-Ann’s a few days ago.   I paid $3.49 for each.  The list price on the wreaths were $34.99…..I couldn’t believe it…..I would have never paid that for them!  They looked awful but I knew I could fix that.    008

I took off all the floral pics.

I wired another wreath on top. 014                                                                                                                                        Using items I already had, I was able to create this…….007

016 - Copy             Now I have a new winter wreath on my front door!  I loved the little chalkboard sign I made so much I even added one to the garage door wreath.

Again this wreath was made just using things I already had.     My plans are to leave my hubby a little sweet something written each morning as he leaves for work!    This message was left for him when he got home from work on Thursday.

P.S.  I’m linking this post to It’s So Very Cheri for Celebrate the Holidays.    Thanks Cheri for hosting such a fun linky party.

  11. Okay, now it's worth $34.99! You did a great job on this and I love the way it turned out. I don't think a lot of people think of just taking the stuff off and using the base to make your own. I just did that this weekend with a nest.

  12. Love what you did with wiring 2 wreaths together. They look great. I, also, made a mini chalkboard to add to a wreath for the door. Now, I just need to make the wreath! LOL

I came over from ucreate--thanks for the sweet comments on my tables. I'd love to have you come by and join in on the fun. This would be a great addition to my Wed party--Celebrate the Holidays--it goes up tonight.

  15. Ha! Love that chalkboard idea!! so much fun. I still haven't put up a wreath since taking the Christmas one down. I do need something SOON!! It feels like spring here in the 60's, but a spring wreath is not for winter....so I need to come up with something. I used to have a berry wreath for this time of the year , but it is hanging inside as it is too crumbly for the swinging of a door!
