Extra Seating

My sister’s place is coming along quite nicely.  Coming from a small condo she lacked extra seating in her new home.  I had a chair in my shed that I purchased at an estate sale sometime back.  I held my breath as I dug through the shed to get it out…..you should see my shed……what a mess!   Oh well, that’s another post.

As you can see, this chair was in a desperate need of a make-over.

I do believe this chair has received several make-overs before and not by me.

I sanded the chair and painted the arms and legs black.  I reupholstered the chair with fabric that coordinated with her living room.

The chair looks really nice in her living room.   My sister also took my advice with a little resistance I might add, and painted her end tables black.

As soon as she gets done painting this black,

029I will share with you the whole room.

Thanks for stopping by and may your day be filled with lots of  sunshine and all the happiness it can hold.

  1. I guess that chair was just waiting for the right home, Gail! How great that it can be used in your sister's place. I think it looks much better with your fabric and painted black.

  2. I must admit I was a little nervous about painting the end tables! However, I knew better than to question my sister's ability of the ins and outs of making a home beautiful. As I stroked the paint on the first table, I knew there was no looking back now. I was so pleased with how they turned out.

PS....Gail has made my home so beautiful and we still are not done yet. I am very blessed to have a sister that is talented and always willing to help.

    Thank you bunches! Jenny

  5. Hello dear Gail,
That chair looks fabulous! Those tables look very pretty in black, too. If your sister is like mine, she must be so grateful for the help. I am going to blog about my sister's new decor very soon.

  6. I have the same chair that belonged to my husband's Cherokee Indian grandmother, I've had it covered, now it's time to do it again and this time I want to do it myself. Wish me luck at Mel's Cabin, visit my cabin the next time you're blog hopping.
