Silver In The Dining Room

The picture frame wainscoting and painting is done in the dining room.   I really like the architectural details this gives to a room.

I’ve changed a few things in the dining room since I put it back together.  On the buffet, I  accessorized with some of the silver that I purchased here and there from Flea Markets and Thrift Stores.

I LOVE my champagne bucket that I purchased for $2.  It is now being displayed on the buffet.  I made a topiary ball using greens and placed it inside.

The tray was a recent purchase  at a Thrift Store.  I have it sitting on an easel.   The cracker holder is housing some votive candles.  It looks really nice at night all lit up.

The glass bowl is another recent thrift store purchase.  It has a silver base around the bottom of it.  I placed some glass pears and greens in it for now.

I was excited to find the little silver cups at a thrift store that I have on the shelves.  I paid $1 each.  Again, I made two little topiary balls and placed them inside the cup.

I really like the touch of silver in my dining room.

  12. After Christmas, I put my silverplate teapot on a black kitchen console and was astounded that it looked so great with black. That's what you have done and it's so pretty- especially with that touch of fresh green. Love it!

  15. This is just lovely! I think the colors are so welcoming and the silver is incredible. And the boxwood balls are adorable. Thanks for visiting my blog...did you post about how you did the wainscoting? I would love to do that in my dining room and up my stairway but I would have to hire a carpenter. I was just wondering what all went into it...Hope your weekend is awesome! ~Ann

My husband and I went thrifting yesterday at a couple of antique stores and found a few awesome silver pieces for great prices. I can't wait to polish them up!
