Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe

Or maybe I should say one potato, two potato, three potato four!  I have so many outside projects to do that I don’t know which one to start first.

First on my list is the front porch.  I would like to paint the wicker furniture a canary yellow but I’m thinking that color maybe a bit too bold for me.   I can’t seem to make a decision.  Would you go bold or keep it white?  I keep going back and forth.

I know what to do, I’ll just invite Debbie from Debbiedoo’s over to push me out of my comfort zone.  She loves color!

003

My plans are to make new seat cushions and pillows depending on what color I decide to paint the wicker furniture.

002

I have yet to make a new wreath for the front door.   That’s on my list of things to do and of course accessorize the porch with wind tolerance accessories.  We have strong winds and it seems like everything tends to either get broken or I’m forever picking things up.

005

Second is the screened-in porch .  It needs to be power washed from top to bottom, re-accessorize and maybe make new pillows.  Look at my hanging tin by the door with absolutely nothing in it!

011

Third, the deck needs to be re-stained and furniture repainted.   This deck gets full sun and it gets very hot in the dead of summer.

And then there’s the yard work!  Weeds need to be pulled, trees need trimming, flowers need to be planted and 50 bags of mulch needs to be put down.

016

I’m exhausted just typing this so I’ll just decide tomorrow.  Just kidding, it’s stormy outside today so I’ll continue making my family room curtains.  Whatever I decide to do first, you will be the first to know, well maybe not the first but I will be sure to keep you posted.

Have you ever felt like there is so much to do and you just don’t know where to start first?

Thanks for the visit and enjoy your day.

Gail

  2. What a cute comment from Anonymous! Yellow would look awesome on those chairs. If you want to keep them white do some brighter colors on the cushions! You definitely need a color to pop!! What a beautiful porch and outside areas! Love it all!

  3. Yes, I know the feeling all too well !! I say go for it with a pop of fun color !! I was going to suggest just what Bonnie said ... if you'd prefer to keep your furniture white, dress it up with colorful cushions and pillows. White will carry you through the seasons, too ... maybe simply changing out your cushions. Whatever you do, it will be fabulous. *Becca*

  4. pretty pictures.
My suggestion - since your cushions are already yellow, echo that color in just highlighted areas of the wicker chairs, such as the center medallions.
Thanks for sharing your pictures of your lovely decor.

  5. I do know this feeling and usually what happens is that nothing gets accomplished, Gail! I've got several projects, plus basic outdoor clean up I have to do, on my mind. I need to order them and organize them in my mind. My problem is that a few of them are painting projects and I keep thinking I'm going to do them assembly line fashion since it is all going to be the same sanding and priming to get them started. It just seems like a better use of the time if I do them all at once, but I may be finding that daunting. Hence the hold up! : )

  8. Yes, color would look good on your cushions. I always have a list of "to dos" and rarely get through that list. Do you like that chaise? I have been looking at buying one just like it for my deck. ♥O

  9. Hi Gail, I here ya we have so much yard work this year because of the winter we had! I think yellow would look great on your chairs. They have so many diff shades, you could always pick a pale yellow. They would look so pretty against the white siding! Martina

  10. Hi Gail...

Ohhh my...sounds like you are going to be a busy little bee, my friend! We have come to that time of the year though...when it's time to spruce up the outside after a long winter. You know, I think that your wicker furniture on the front porch would look fabulous painted canary yellow!!! I love your white house with the black trim and shutters...so beautiful! The canary yellow furniture would just "pop" against the white and black! Plus, it's such a cheery color...so perfect for spring and summer! I say GO FOR IT! Hehe! Have fun with all of your upcoming outdoor projects, my friend! Can't wait to see all the changes!

    Warmest spring wishes,

  11. Hi Gail...this post could be written by me! I know exactly how you feel. At times I wish I lived in a little condo with no worries...but then I look around my yard and realize it's all worth it. I have white wicker too...I have thought about painting it but never had the nerve. I can't wait to see what you do to yours. Inspire me! ~Ann

  12. You lucky girl, two porches and a deck! Is it porch pillows that you are wanting made. I love your porches, I guess one way to decide about color is, do you want a fun and exciting looking porch, or a calm and demure, not sure if that is the word that I mean, porch. Colors evoke emotion, so think about that. I think the yellow would be GREAT myself.

  14. I love the variety in your seating spaces...
You've got plenty to keep you busy. The best part is once you get one space finished... you can rest there in between finishing all the others.

    Garden space envy!

  16. Honey, I am so where you're at!!! In fact, painters are coming tomorrow and I just finished emptying out the room they are to paint...what a chore! Unlike you, though, I have no vision and just get so stuck on how to carry out the many projects I want done. I need a visit from you! As to your wicker...I would leave white! Love, love white wicker. I have it on my porch too. I have a yellow wicker chair and although I love yellow it doesn't look good. I am going to "eventually" paint it white. I would only use yellow if you are planning on going with a pale yellow. Some yellows just scream "yeller"!!!!
