Our Son and an Assembly Line

Hello Everyone.  I’m still here!  There has been so much going on around here since Easter.  I don’t believe that I shared with you that our son, Jordan was just recently deployed back to Afghanistan.  We are told that his deployment will more than likely be only nine months this time around as opposed to a year on his last tour.   It will be the longest nine months!

And then right after Easter, our whole immediate family got sick with that nasty flu bug that has been going around.  I am just starting to feel better.  Yesterday, was the first day in almost two weeks that I felt like I had my energy back.

Before I got sick and became a couch potato,  I had an assembly line in the garage of furniture pieces waiting for a make-over.  A little night stand,

002

a bench,

003

where the top lifts for storage,

005

a foot stool and a drop leaf table.

006

I did finish my assembly line of make-overs and the night stand is already in my booth.

009

Because black is a big seller for me, I painted all the make-overs black.

I'll share the other make-overs in another post.

My heart is saddened with the tragedies that our country is going through right now. I will continue to pray for all those that are suffering and also for the safe return of our troops.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Gail

  3. Gail- I am glad you are feeling better but I bet you are still heart sick that your son has been deployed. I love all the black you are selling. It is so funny what sells in one area and not in another, isn't it? xo Diana

  6. Dearest Gail, I am saddened to hear that Jordan is going back to Afghanistan. I now have two nephews in the US Military. I think I told you about my second nephew who just this month finished his stint in Afghanistan and is stationed in Italy with his wife. My prayers are with you and Jordan, I know it can't be easy.

We follow the news here in Holland and are also in shock of the terrible news that is going on in your country. Our prayers are with you and your country. 10. Hi Gail,
I can just imagine how awful it has been for you to be sick and probably worried about all the projects you need to complete. I love how they all turned out. That's a sweet little night stand all done up in black. Black doesn't sell very well in my booth but white does, so go figure!

I pray for your son's safe return.

    hugs
    Sissie

  12. Thank you to your son for his service ... he'll be home safe and sound before you know it! And, glad you guys are all on the mend. Your newly transformed pieces are fabulous ... they definitely won't last long, I'm sure!

  13. It's nice to see you back again, I've been losing blogs I follow, & thought I'd lost you. Sorry to hear you've been poorly, but now on the mend. It must be sad for you when your son has to go away, especially so far & for so long. The servicemen from all countries are so brave, & our thoughts are with your country for the recent cruelty you have just experienced.
Be strong & enjoy your painting which looks great. I'm sure it won't be long before someone buys them.

  14. Glad to hear you are feeling better, Gail! You got some great pieces to make over. I wish I had enough room here to set up an assembly line style in my garage! It is so much easier to move along to the next piece {especially when using the same color paint} and get them done all at once. After being away all week, I'm eager to get some things going and get them into my booth.

  15. Glad to hear you're all feeling much better.
Your transformations of furniture still amaze me. I know that one will be snatched up quickly.
Yes without all these men and women in the forces where would all of our countries be. Before you know it he will be back safely.
