A Fall Welcome on the Front Porch

Hello Everyone!  I added the fall finishing touches to my front porch today!

014

This year, I wanted to change things up in my urns.  I usually plant mums in them but I decided to make pumpkin topiaries instead.

I made a straw mat for my pumpkins.  To keep the straw from blowing away, I cut a trash bag to the size I needed and sprayed the bag with Spray Adhesive.  I then scattered the straw on the trash bag, patting it down so that it would stick to the bag.  I wasn’t sure if it would work but guess what….it does!

Like last year, the wire planter hanging on the front porch is spruced up with some sunflowers and a Harvest Home sign.

This is still my favorite place on the porch!

I love to sit out here and just swing in my swing.

It’s really pretty at night with the ambiance of the lanterns and the string of lights in the pumpkin topiaries.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all are enjoying this beautiful fall weather we are having.

  6. Oh Gail! I JUST LOVE IT! Your porch looks wonderful. That was a great idea about the straw and the spray adhesive. I didn't think it would work on something like that. Amazing! I love my porch swing, too. Nothing like it in the world, is there? xo Diana

  11. Very pretty, Gail! I love all your touches and it looks so welcoming. Especially your swing! I love it and can just imagine sitting there and enjoying the cooler weather. I didn't buy any mums this year and I think my faux arrangements outside look just fine.

  13. You're so ready for Halloween, Gail. Your guests can definitely enjoy the spooky welcome when they approach your front door. Hehe! However, remember to keep your porch at its best condition. It's more important than the accessories.

  17. You are definitely ready for the halloween Gail and i love what you did on that porch! I love the pumpkin topiaries! I love the swing too and the pillows. It could be my favorite spot too. I know it's really more beautiful at night time especially with those lanterns and lights you have over there. Anyway, you really did a great job on that porch.

  18. Your porch looks so welcoming in its fall décor! I also put lights around my urns but at the base of the 'mums I put in them. I usually switch the 'mums out for pumpkins later in Oct. I can imagine how lovely it is to sit on your swing and enjoy the view!

  19. Very festive, Gail. You are genius to use the trash bags and adhesive to keep the straw in place. I bet it makes easier clean up in the end too.
