Tweaking The Guest Room

While waiting for my husband’s help to finish the picture frame wainscoting in the dining room, I’ve been tweaking a few things in the guest bedroom.

002

I made new pillows for the bed.

004

The floral print fabric was the  reason behind this little tweaking make-over.   I loved it and wanted to find a way to incorporate it somewhere in my home.  It happened to be the perfect shade of blue for the guest room.

008

009

I rediscovered some thrift store, auction and yard sale items to tweak the mantel.

A little over a year ago when I redesigned this guest room, most of the furnishings I placed in the room were either free or purchases from yard sales, thrift stores or auctions.

The mantel and bedside dresser was a purchase at an auction.  I paid $1 for the mantel and $2 for the bedside dresser.

004

The china cabinet and the chair in the corner were both freebies!  The china cabinet is used to house a TV.

  008

The chandelier was a  $15 purchase from the Habitat for Humanity.

Isn’t it amazing what a little TLC and paint will do.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Gail
