Hello Everyone!
I’m not sure what this rusty old thing is that I bought.
The tag says it is a "snow buds" but according to a Google search this is not a "snow bud". Most of the search results identified either a Walt Disney movie or teas.
I am beginning to think that someone was just recycling their tags. If any of you know what this whatchamacallit is, please let me know!
Whatever it is or was used for I really liked it. I thought it was unique looking. Look at the scalloped edging on it in all its rusty charm.
When I bought it, I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with it but it didn’t take me long to figure it out. I hung it on the side of one of the kitchen cabinets with a command strip and…..
…..placed a faux fern on it.
For now, I’m content with the fern but I’m sure I will be changing it up as time goes by!
As always, thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Gail

I love it, whatever it is. I'm a fan of rust. Looks great with your plant.
ReplyDeleteWhatever a "snow bud" is, it sure is pretty the way you have garnished it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gail, for sharing your creativity at Potpourri Friday!
Whatever it is, it looks great where you have it. My thoughts, the holes are for string or ribbon. Maybe you could hang some dried lavender or herbs from this. Just a thought!
ReplyDeleteRusty bits are always good, even unidentified. You find the cool stuff Gail. I have not been thrifting in a while and need to get going. Happy Weekend, Olive
ReplyDeleteGail...I think it is a snow guard....they were put on roofs to keep the snow from blocking the gutters.....google that and see if that is more what it is...it looks great how you have it tho!
ReplyDeleteGail - you are too funny! And you are mis-reading the tag. It is indeed a snow guard for the roof, and they are called snow birds. Love what you did with it!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea what it was...but I love what it is now! Rusty perfection :) Laurel
ReplyDeleteLOVE all that rustiness and it looks so pretty the way you have it displayed!!
ReplyDeleteYou've got it! It's a snow bird. They attached to the roof to keep piles of snow from sliding off on your head when you exited the house! Very cool re-purpose!
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is it looks great with the fern!
ReplyDeleteI see you got your answer and I learned something new too. Great repurpose of a rusty old snow BIRD! :@
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique find! It looks great with the fern on it!
ReplyDeleteLoving your blog and loving your rusty whatchamacallit! Looks great with the fern on it!!! Following you now!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this old piece...with all of its rusty goodness...and how you used it, too!
ReplyDeleteyep - the people who said it's a snow bird are right. fun.
ReplyDeleteHow cute Gail...works for me that whatchamacallit!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what it is either, but I love how you used it! It fits perfectly by your sink. Are you sure that "Snow Buds" isn't the dealer's name or something? I know that's what they do at antique shops here. They put their name on the tags like that.
ReplyDeleteOh, never mind. I read some of your other comments and now see what it really is. How cool!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first looked at the picture, without reading your post, I thought it was what you put your foot on to get up into a buggy, of course I could be wrong:) Never heard of a snow bud:)
ReplyDeleteAnyway it looks great with the fern on it!
Yes i thought it was a step for a buggy or carriage as well. Clever use for it.
ReplyDeleteCould you tell me where you got your cute light over your sink? So cute!! gelswood@aol.com
