Vintage Kitchen Stool

While I was running errands the other day, I just happened to stop at one of my favorite places to shop (an antique mall that has approximately 170 antique dealers).  And look at what I bought.

007

Yep…an aqua kitchen stool!  Look at the sweet little decal on the back of the stool.

006

As much as I liked the aqua color and that sweet little decal…it just was not going to work in my kitchen.

004

So out to the garage it went for some paint.  I’m happy to say the new color now works in the kitchen.

012

My first thought was to paint it green but I played it safe and painted it white.  I stenciled my favorite number on the back of the stool.

011

I’m still thinking that maybe a green would look nice…..umm don’t be surprised if this vintage kitchen stool makes another appearance.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Gail

  2. HI Gail! Oh, what a darling little stool! I love that little decal too but know if you're going to use something in your home you have to make it work. It looks wonderful white and with your '3' on it1 Love the entire area here. So much pretty to look at.

  5. I thought the aqua looked great in your kitchen but the white has that certain something too! It still retains its vintage feel with that cool unmistakable shape from another era. Great find! Did you get it for a good deal? Inquiring thrifters want to know.

  6. Hi Gail,
Your little stool is so cute and looks perfect in your kitchen. The fun thing about finding a piece like this one is that you can paint it as many times as you like and I have a feeling you will be doing just that.

  17. It looks wonderful as always. I think green would be fun though and would sorta make it pop from the rest of the white in the room.

  18. Oh, I'm so into aqua right now. I would have left it. I probably would have put it in my bathroom...that seems to be the color going in there lately.
However...you did a great job painting it and looks fantastic in your kitchen!

  23. Gail -- I LOVE it both ways! Lucky find for you. The decal reminded me of the old song Bicycle Built For Two -- my granddad used to sing that :)

  33. This is so darn cute. I agree with one of the other comments that the shape is what makes it so attractive particularly white with the scrolling number.
