Back in May, Charlie and I attended a benefit yard sale for wounded warriors. Everything in this yard sale was donated by the people in the community. It was a huge yard sale with a lot of nice things. I bought quite a few furniture pieces and this end table was one of my purchases.
Overall, this piece was in excellent condition other than a few knicks and scratches on it. With some Annie Sloan chalk paint, the knicks and scratches were all easy fixes.
I did, however, sanded and re-stained the top of the table. I wanted a darker stain than what was originally on it.
I used Miniwax Dark Walnut.
Today, I took it to my booth.
I’m hoping that it sells quickly because if it’s still there when I go back it just might come back home with me.
As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!
Gail

I am pretty sure that you won't be bringing that home because someone will snap it up. I LOVE it! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table, Gail! Love the stained top. I'd go with Walnut, too. Your booth is looking great. I have to get in to mine some time this week now that we are back from NY. I've got a few smalls, but I'm hoping to hit a couple of garage sales Thursday and Friday.
ReplyDeleteI've got absolutely no furniture projects going on right now. Before I start making some Christmas items for the Christmas in July promotion, I'd like to get a couple of stools or something done and in.
I really love what you did with the end table. Love the stained top. The chair sitting next to it in your booth looks like one I have that has been in the family as long as I can remember.
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover! I really like the dark stained top, it's a nice contrast to the fresh white paint. I'm sure it won't last long in your booth.
ReplyDeleteOh it is pretty...I love the stained top...Maybe you need it?!?!
ReplyDeleteI love you booth, Gail. The dark top was a good call. Nice.
ReplyDeleteIt would go perfectly in my house. Dark walnut is the stain I've used to touch up nicks and chips in our old woodwork. Pretty piece!
ReplyDeleteWonderful makeover Gail...love the darker stain top. Sometimes it's really hard to let a piece go.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Love this! It turned out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteOMG, my mother has that exact table in brand new condition. Love what you did with it...don't think she'd let me touch hers though!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Our bedside tables are very similar in style and I think they're just beautiful - love the style! Yours go very well with the other dark top table and the rocking chair! Another excellent redo! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteI love the dark walnut stain. I am getting ready to redo an oak dining table and after seeing your project, I think I am going to go with the dark walnut too. Any suggestions on how to finish it off after I stain it? Since it will be my dining table, I will want to protect it.
ReplyDeleteYour piece is lovely. I bet it sells quickly. ~ Lisa ~
Love love love your table and your booth!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July Gail!

I am always so impressed with your re-do's. I love everything in your booth but love that groceries sign.

The end table turned out beautifully! I love it and I like how you darkened the edges of the cutout in the front. It will sell quickly, I'm sure. Well, I know it would if I walked by anyway!
ReplyDeleteI love the makeover. I am going to mimic the color on a piece I am redoing right now as well. I have a small frenchy nightstand w/drawers I am redoing and it was white but needed a few fixes and I have been going around and around but feel like it wants to stay white. You have convinced me with this piece to keep it white. I love the stained top and the doors on yours. I am checking out your booth with so much envy. You have so many furniture pieces. I want to hit some auctions soon because the yard sales around here are coming up duds lately. I would love to shop your booth for me personally. LOL!!!! It's all so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful, Gail. Love your booth styling.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it will go quickly ... you did an amazing job, as always! I, too, love your booth!
ReplyDeleteIt's just gorgeous Gail - I LOVE french provincial to start with - but you took that table to a whole new level!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the follow - I'm already following by google - so will follow on bloglovin' now too!
