Last night I was reading a blog by Kim at Savvy Southern Style and she posted about a beautiful green demijohn that she found at her favorite antique mall. After seeing hers, I thought I may have one. This morning, I went out to my shed and found it in a box, that was hidden away.
I don’t know much about demijohns. This one is dark green, has imperfections in the glass and has no markings on it. Could this be a demijohn?
In any case, I’ve cleaned it up and now it’s sitting in a wire basket in my foyer.
Also I discovered this bottle in the same box.
Near the neck and near the base it has written, “Rainbow” . “Full Quart”is written on the neck below Rainbow. There is also some writing on the bottom. Are either of these bottles a demijohn?
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.
Gail

ReplyDeleteGail, I do believe that is one. Great color!
ReplyDeleteHi Gail, I believe the green one is. Their both nice and I love how you displayed it! Have a wonderful Mother's Day! Martina
ReplyDeleteThe green one might possibly be but I thought a demijohn was a bottle wrapped in some type of wicker or basket type of material. Of course, your bottle might have once had this. Whether they are or not, both bottles are still unique and could certainly add interest to the decor.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what a demijohn is, but I like it!
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about demijohns, but I love those bottles! They are both worth putting out to enjoy, I think.

Hi Gail. I have to confess I've never heard of a Demi john until I saw Kims! :) Your jar looks like hers and it's very lovely! You've put it to good decorating use too! Is the little brown bottle an old bleach bottle? Love it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day to you!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Hi Gail, I don't know if that's a demijohn, but it's lovely, so - who cares - call it one! How fun to find 2 treasures in the shed! Linda
