No matter how hard I tried, I could not convince my hubby to replace the woodstove with a gas fireplace. He just loves having his woodstove so I just gave up in favor of what he wanted. He is after all, so very generous and lets me do what I want (except replace the woodstove) when it comes to the interior of our home.
Much to my surprise, after putting up the picture frame wainscoting, the woodstove doesn’t look bad.
Living Room before adding the picture frame wainscoting.
I absolutely love the architectural details the picture frame wainscoting has given to our home.
Although, I may not have gotten that gorgeous fireplace with a mantel, I still have my little mantel shelf. I’ll just keep on decorating that and just admire everybody else’s beautifully decorated fireplace mantels.
Thanks for stopping by and may the Blessings of this joyous season find it’s way into your home.
Happy Easter
Gail

Oh Gail, your room is stunning. I love the wainscoting. It looks beautiful. I agree, the wood stove is just fine. I really like your little mantel shelf. I don't have a fireplace either, but your shelf works beautifully. I love the vignette you've arranged on it. So clever to use the frame around the clock. Love it all. Thanks so much for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGail your room is absolutely beautiful. I love all the details.
ReplyDeleteHi Gail. I agree, with your above comments! I love your room too! I think you stove looks great and you've decorated her up so nicely. Your mantle shelf looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love the moulding you have added. I dream of putting some in my house one day. Love the stove. I'm sure the smell is great too. I love a good fire on a cold day.
ReplyDeleteOh well, sometimes you gotta know which battles to fight, Gail, right? I'm with you, though, my hubby doesn't say anything about what I do in the house, either. The molding makes such a nice backdrop to your furniture and accessories.
ReplyDeleteIts not a bad looking unit so that helps!
ReplyDeleteI like it too Gail, it has a warm rustic, charming look to the room.
ReplyDeleteGail, that is a good looking wood stove and the way the cost of fuel and energy is going it is wise to have it. We have a wood stove and a gas fire place but it does not have a mantle! ♥O
ReplyDeleteGail the room looks beautiful! I just love the picture frame molding, it gives the room a whole new look! Happy Easter to you and your family, Martina
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job in drawing the eye away from the stove and over to your beautiful vignette. Thanks for sharing, great job.
ReplyDeleteGail, I think your mantle shelf is totally amazing! Love your wood stove, too. The way you have it decorated makes it look so cozy. I think I would rather have it than a fireplace! Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm adding you to my follow list! :)

Gail! I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI think the way you have it now is beautiful. The new picture frame wainscot and the black on the chairs and shelf all complement each other. To me the wood stove is the icing on the cake.
Be blessed!
Pat
Gail your mantle and sitting area are gorgeous! The wainscotting is awesome too...the stove fits right in!
ReplyDeleteHi, Gail. I love how you have created a mantle. Such a great idea. The woodstove is rustic. I like it. The wainscotting is beautiful! If you like aprons, stop by this week for a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGail I love it... It's all beautiful...
ReplyDeletePattie
I truly love this! Your waincotting is just perfect, your decor of it is lovely. Although the woodstove is rustic with all your beautiful decor, it doesn't look it anymore...you did very well. I'm your latest follower, I'm at TTT, hope to see you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter
FABBY
I think your room looks wonderful! I understand about the wood stove. I have other issues that I have to "compromise" in order to decorate. I guess they live there too!! lol
ReplyDeleteI must say that the stove looks great but I know it just wasn't the look you wanted. The walls look awesome.
Have a great day and talk to you later!
The picture frame molding is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYour mantel is lovely, even if you don't have the fireplace to go with it. Sometimes we have to make the best of things with what we have, right?
I have had to learn that, too.
Hugs, Cindy
Gail, this is beautiful!! The wood stove looks great! I wouldn't change a thing! Not a thing!
ReplyDeleteThe wainscoting is just stunning!
Great job!

I love the woodstove!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I'm DYING for a wood stove, especially a nice VT Castings one with a shiny enamel finish like yours! But MY husband won't put one in our fireplace because HE won't give up his open flame fireplace! So my heat goes right up my chimney whenever we have a fire and the rest of the house is freezing and only in the room with the fireplace is it warm. Husbands!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a beautiful job though. I'm your newest follower. Stop by and visit my blog sometime!

Hi there fellow Texas Blogger! The news wainscoting looks great! And the rest of your house is Beautiful too!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe wood stove adds to the beauty and style of your room!! Love your gorgeous shelf mantel!!
ReplyDeleteI love your room and the woodstove.
ReplyDeleteWe have a fireplace that is now gas and I would rather have a stove or have the fireplace burning wood. I miss the warmth of a real fire, when the lights go out from weather, it really comes in handy. Your room is so nice and the shelf mantle is wonderful, you have it decorated so nice.

Gail, The wainscoting looks fabulous and you have the mantel shelf decorated beautifully. Thanks for joining my party.
