TV Armoire Goes Home

To tell you a little bit about the home where the armoire resides, my niece and her husband bought an 80- year old farm house about three years ago.    It was built in 1926.

The hardwood floors, stair case, french doors and all the molding and trim are original to the house.  Notice how the entertainment center makes it impossible to close the french doors.  The entertainment center was placed in this location because of the TV cable outlet placement. 100_0286

Last Christmas, my niece’s husband asked me to do a living room redesign for my niece as a Christmas present from him.  Here are a few pics of the living room before.  I apologize for the blurriness of the pics.  When I took the pics, they were for my use only.  100_0284

Above is my niece’s husband (Billy).  Below are Pics of the living room after the redesign.

Look how beautiful her hardwood floors are.

By using what she already had, what was given to her as Christmas presents and painting the room, I was able to completely transform her living room.

This is a picture of the $5.00 armoire I got at an auction before I completely transformed it.

With the removal of the entertainment center and the placement of the TV armoire, it’s the finishing touch to her redesign.  I have to say my niece was so happy with the recent make-over and she loves how she can  actually use her french doors now.

  3. Oh my what a beautiful home! I would love a farm house! And your armoire make-over is perfect for her sweet country home!
I was curious if you ever create a stencil to sell? I tried to paint a sign recently - after tracing, was free handing it (the post is a couple of days ago) and the next time, I would much rather do it the way you did and I have a few signs to make. I would love to hear back from you on the subject. :o)
    Have a great Sunday evening.

  9. You did a great job. The red of the armoire is so cheery and really gives pop to the farmhouse. And it stands out against the wood floors. Thanks for sharing.

  21. I LOVE the armoire painted red. It's gorgeous. And you've done such a nice job in your home and with that huge sectional. Those are comfy, but can be hard to decorate around and you've done a nice job.

  26. Wow! You did a fantastic job redecorating her living room! I love the sectional. I'm thinking about getting one but wasn't sure how to work it into my living room. I will have to ask, does she have kids? Because mine have managed to destory my living room decor! I can decorate the fireplace but you can't walk over to it.
