Paint Paint and More Paint

WOW what a week it has been!   Between the kitchen remodel and having to deal with my computer crashing due to a window update, I think I’m doing pretty good so far.

Monday was the official kick-off of our kitchen remodel.  I primed the kitchen cabinets on Monday and on Tuesday put my first coat of white paint on them.  I do believe I have finished the final coat  of paint on my cabinets as of today.   I  put a total of four coats of paint on my cabinets.  I must tell you I’m so LOVING the white!

Hubby had off today (CWS day) and is  working hard. He’s taking up the lin0leum flooring and what a mess!

But we have this now just waiting in our garage to replace the linoleum.

I know what we’ll be doing this weekend but I can see sunshine at the end of this tunnel!  What a way to spend our anniversary weekend……in the kitchen of all places.

Happy Halloween and have a wonderful weekend!

I’m linking this post to  Donna at Funky Junk Interiors for her Saturday Nite Special.  This weekend’s theme is anything goes.

  1. I can't wait to see it once it is all done. Believe me I know what you are going through. We are in the home stretch of our kitchen remodel that turned into a kitchen gut and redo..ahhh fun.

  2. Have a Happy Anniversary! At least you'll be spending time together! : )

  3. Ha ha ha...I love that you are spending your Anniversary in a remodel. For ours my hubby took me to a thrift store and a hardware store...It made me happy:) Your kitchen is going to be stunning in white. Good luck!!!

We are FINALLY getting our flooring on Monday and I am so excited!!!
    All the very best!

  5. Wow Gail, I see the progress ! It is looking really good !

  6. Those white cabinets are going to be gorgeous, and that floor! Can't wait to see it all finished :O)

  7. Good luck! It's looking great so far!

  8. Oh man, Gail! I can't wait to do that in my kitchen. They are going to look so great. And the go, girl! I am eagerly waiting for the reveal.

  9. Gail - Loved the sneak peek of the new flooring. Can't wait to see the final reveal. Happy Anniversary!

  10. The new flooring will be great - and bet it will put some PoP! into your kitchen! Glad I'm not the one scraping up old flooring - that is a MAN'S kind of work!!! Thanks for joining in GET R DONE FRIDAY!

  11. Hi Gail!
    Happy Anniversary to you guys.
I hope you have good knee pads for laying all of that tile.
Aren't you excited about a new kitchen for all the holiday meals?

Hand waxing is easy. You just have to buff lightly until you have a soft sheen. I love the look and the feel of it.

  12. Oooh! It's going to look SO GOOD!!! I can't wait to see the finished project! I love that trip on the cabinets- I would like to do that to mine, but they have this weird lip around the top- ugh. I always end up opening a big fat can of worms!! ;)
    Happy Halloween!!!

  13. I so know what you're going through. Oh my gosh do I ever! What a smart gal you are to take the doors into that huge garage of yours. (I say huge cuz mine is a single wide)

I also have a tip for your lino removal if you aren't done. When I was removing my lino floor, I had a terrible time. Then I thought about what kinds of things released glue. Heat does. So I grabbed my Wagner wallpaper steamer I had and tried it. Not only did the glue soften, but so did the vinyl! It was like removing butter! Best kept secret now revealed!

I can't wait to watch the transformation of your kitchen!

Thanks for linking up to the party. Happy 'anniversary in the kitchen.' LOL

  16. You've been very very busy:)The cupboard doors look so fresh already.

  17. It will be fun to see the pictures when the kitchen is finished. No fun living in re-modeling mess.

  18. Boy, that looks like ALOT of hard work. But it's going to look mighty pretty when it's done!!

  19. Congratulations on your kitchen's coming along great! That white looks fabulous! Tearing lino is such nasty work, but it will be well worth it for that pretty tile!

    Happy Anniversary!

  20. What a teaser... can't wait to see it finished. I SO want to paint our kitchen cabinets white... still trying to convince the hubby :-) Good Luck as you finish up.
