Hello! Now that all the Christmas stuff is put away, I’ve been busy creating a few winter vignettes around the house and playing with my new camera. I got a Cannon EOS Rebel T3i for Christmas from Charlie.
I kept the mantel shelf simple this year for winter.
I just added faux pine with some pinecones.
I placed an old mason jar with some candles inside the wire cloche.
Do you use a photo editing program?
One of my newest HomeGood Store purchases about a month ago…a new cloche.
I love how big it is! I placed a large pinecone with some winter greens inside.
Well how did I do with my new camera? I’ve been playing with it but there is so much to learn. If any of you can give me some helpful tips, I would love to hear them and would greatly appreciate it!
As always, thanks for your visit and for your sweet comments. They are always appreciated.
Gail

ReplyDeleteEverything looks great, Gail! I am so jealous of your new camera. Looks like you are doing a great job with it! I need a new one, but have no idea what kind to get. Guess I need to do some research, huh? Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty Gail. I just did some winter changes myself I will be sharing later on. It was so nice to clean up and get the house back to normal. Happy New year.
ReplyDeleteOh, your mantel shelf looks wonderful! And congrats on your new camera -- I need to study the book on mine. I have a LOT to learn!
ReplyDeleteHi Gail,
ReplyDeleteYour photos look wonderful and I envy you getting that wonderful camera.
I also love your beatuiful room and that cloche looks wonderful atop that great round table.

I love the looks of the pinecones and greens. I am doing the same thing as I take down my Christmas decorations.

Woo hoo, you got the same camera I have. Love it and you will have fun practicing with it. Digital photography book by Scott Kelby helped me some. Plus highly recommend a tripod. I was told by two or three other bloggers about the book. I got the first edition and will probably try another one soon. Your room looks great.
ReplyDeleteYour Winter vignettes are as beautiful as ever! I love to see how you put everything together. I love the mantle vignette best.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
your mantle looks wonderful...such a cozy corner!
ReplyDeleteGail, your pics are beautiful! I have the same camera. I'm still learning. I do love Picasa and Picnik for photo editing. They make it so easy. Your home looks gorgeous. Love that cloche!

ReplyDeleteI love that corner! The entire vignette is just gorgeous. And the photos look amazing too! I think the new camera is a keeper. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your clock! Beautiful vignette! thanks for sharing JoAnn
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I have a Canon too and I love it. I just got a Wide angle lens for my job as a Home Stager and Interior Designer and it makes ALL the difference! I can shoot a whole room. Your home is beautiful and I love your vignettes. Happy 2012 XO Cindy
ReplyDeleteI've had my new camera since last Christmas, Gail, and I'm still figuring out some of the features. I'm good with the basics though and the fact that it works so well with my shaky disposition! : ) Love your new vignettes and that large cloche is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLove your big cloche Gail, and your pictures are great, no tips here I'm still learning myself:)
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow wall color. What color is that?? Always looking for just the right color.....

I love your mantel shelf and your photos are fabulous. I just use a simple point and shoot, so I am of no help with a real camera. Love the cloches too. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteI got that camera for Christmas, too!! I've found that it takes the best pictures with the 'no flash' setting. I also have it set to Auto focus, so that helps a lot, too!! Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteYour new camera is fantastic! We have the same chicken wire cloche! And I love the mantle hanging on the wall...fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour shelf looks great and I love that cloche! I received a new camera as well and I am playing around with it too. Have fun with yours!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Susan and Bentley
How wonderful to receive a new camera! I hope to buy one sometime this year after I decide what to get. Have fun playing with your new toy! You are just going to have too much fun decorating and then taking photos of your fantabulous results!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! Love you shots, love your vignette! Everything looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Donna
